For years, the Uselton’s Christmas tree ranch has been the heart of Burnt Brush, South Carolina— until, just weeks before the holidays, a mysterious swarm of mosquitoes descends, killing the pines and threatening to destroy the family’s livelihood. As Horace and Harriet Jane struggle to save their family’s livelihood, the town buzzes with rumors, and their neighbor, Winonachuck, circles like a hawk, eager to achieve the failing ranch for her own hidden plans.
Beneath the failing ranch, a forbidden spark burns: Holly Uselton and Winonachuck’s son, Adahynuk, have been secretly in love for months, meeting under the cover of the pines neither family can bear to lose. Their romance becomes a fragile thread of hope — and danger — as tensions rise and loyalties blur.
Meanwhile, the local law enforcement, claiming to investigate the infestation, is unknowingly entangled in a deeper, darker plot. Powerful forces (their undying love for the same person) have caused Veeguss and Seefuss to be caught in the crossfire of love and uncovering the truth.
When the truth begins to surface, secrets, love, and greed collide beneath the snow-dusted trees. Christmas at Skeeter Ranch is a darkly funny, heartfelt drama about family, corruption, and the courage to protect what truly matters — even when the world around you begins to rot.
